38 Week Appointment!

So I went in for my 38 week appointment this morning and I gained another 3 lbs!! I am definitely retaining the water right now! My blood pressure and everything else came back fine so there is no concern about the baby and my health at this time. I do get concerned because I don't like to swell... it hurts especially in my hands. Talked to my doula about it and I am going to try to go to basic foods for the next week to see if that will help me get back to normal (as normal as pregnancy is that is!) So that means no french fries or Starbucks (well maybe tea)! Gotta eat a little healthier because I really don't want anymore water weight on, always the hardest for me to get off!
On a better note, I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced and am very soft!! So these minor contractions that I'm having are helping the little one out! She said she would strip my membranes next Tuesday if that's what I choose... I'm thinking more on acupuncture instead!

Also, my IF's made it in on Sunday night with a 4 hour delay!! There was a mouse on their plane in Germany so they had to get off that plane and board another one! Very hard to do when you have 2 year old twins! When I saw them all yesterday they seemed to be suffering from Jet Lag but still in high spirits! We are planning on meeting up and going to lunch today, but again they probably are still trying to catch up and change their bodies to CO time. Which I can only imagine is very difficult.

I will update soon... Hope you all have a great week!

  1. Hi,

I am a PhD Student in Paris, France and do a research on surrogate mothers. I was wondering if you might be interested to propose to your surrogate mother to participate in my study? it would imply me sending her through email several questionnaires (3) and a consent form. It would be anonymous. I already have met with several surros but the more the better for the research. Let me know if you'd would be interested in that. I can answer all your questions too.

Take care and good luck with everything!
