So I went in for my 38 week appointment this morning and I gained another 3 lbs!! I am definitely retaining the water right now! My blood pressure and everything else came back fine so there is no concern about the baby and my health at this time. I do get concerned because I don't like to swell... it hurts especially in my hands. Talked to my doula about it and I am going to try to go to basic foods for the next week to see if that will help me get back to normal (as normal as pregnancy is that is!) So that means no french fries or Starbucks (well maybe tea)! Gotta eat a little healthier because I really don't want anymore water weight on, always the hardest for me to get off!
On a better note, I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced and am very soft!! So these minor contractions that I'm having are helping the little one out! She said she would strip my membranes next Tuesday if that's what I choose... I'm thinking more on acupuncture instead!
Also, my IF's made it in on Sunday night with a 4 hour delay!! There was a mouse on their plane in Germany so they had to get off that plane and board another one! Very hard to do when you have 2 year old twins! When I saw them all yesterday they seemed to be suffering from Jet Lag but still in high spirits! We are planning on meeting up and going to lunch today, but again they probably are still trying to catch up and change their bodies to CO time. Which I can only imagine is very difficult.
I will update soon... Hope you all have a great week!
This is my journey of becoming a surrogate mother and all the adventures that come along with it!

WOW I really am behind!!
Okay so everyone else has been updating and of course I guess I just haven't had the time or I have thought about updating and haven't!
I think it's the second one, not because I didn't want to but because over the last couple of months it's been super crazy busy and I totally have lost my mind!
So here is the update:
I am officially 37weeks and 5days! Everything with my pregnancy has been pretty uncomplicated, besides trying to get all of the last minute paperwork figured out! I'm telling you the paperwork has been such a pain in the butt the last couple of weeks that it's crazy.
We finally were able to finalize the paperwork with the hospital because 4 social workers didn't know the answers to the questions or weren't comfortable answering them. Hard to explain. It's done now thank goodness. The other paperwork is for when the baby is born and goes to France... My birth certificate has to be on file for her in France because she was born here in the US. I will be on her birth certificate for life! This is so intense but I'm okay with it.
As for how I feel... I'm good so far, no medical problems what so ever and emotionally I don't think I really want this to be done yet. It seems like it has gone by so quickly that I just lost track of time. I think I will miss her when she goes to France but in a way like a niece or nephew and I'm telling you what I miss them a lot!! Physically I have gotten big, not as big as with my boys but still big! It will be interesting to see how my body changes back this time, always a mystery!!
Great news!! My IF's and their twins have shown up today!! 2 weeks before due date, I can't tell you how excited I am to meet their twins!
Not to much else to update on... hopefully after I meet up with them I will update this again. I'll try not being a slacker over the next couple of weeks! It will be busy still but I need to suck it up!

26 weeks
So I am now 26 weeks and it feels like this little girl is about to fall out!! It is so different than being pregnant with any of my boys. They all loved my ribs and she really likes to ride low. She is so active and moving all the time that it even wakes me up in the middle of the night!!
So far I have only gained about 7lbs so they still want me to gain another 13-18lbs! I guess there is plenty of time for that.... Next appointment is next week and I already said I have to get blood drawn. So other than that not too much is happening.
May look into doing some henna though, I have been looking at pictures and artists and it looks amazing, I think it would be something different to do. I'll keep you updated!

25 weeks....
So it has been busy and I said that I would update sooner but of course that didn't happen!! Well the visit with my IF's was amazing and had a great time. They really bonded with our youngest Cooper because he was with us all day for the US and the hospital tour.
We had a quick visit after they got some rest later that afternoon and I am happy to say that they found an apartment to stay in before and after the birth. It is a little ways away but it isn't too bad. When they return in April they will have their twins with them and I think it will be interesting to see how everything will end up working out.
Our next big step will be at 30 weeks when all of the legal things come into play with the state of Colorado. I had to send them a copy of my license because in France if they are having a baby outside of the country they need to make a declaration of birth. So that France knows there will be a baby coming back with one of them!! This was interesting to me, maybe I will do some more research on it...
Next appointment will be February 2nd! I have to do a second glucose test and get a HCT and a HGB test done as well... not use to doing so many blood draws but this is minimal compared to what I went through in the beginning!!

This is a picture of.... you guessed it a little girl that my IF's will have the privilege of taking home with them in May!! So excited!
